BioTop L of Automated Laboratory Scale Cell Cultivation and Fermentation System

The BioTop L is a fully functional bioreactor system for cell cultivation and bacterial fermentation. The equipment configuration and software features meet all the functions that are required for safe, reliable, and user-friendly operation. The BioTop L is the system of choice for universities, teaching purposes, and for basic R&D experiments. The integrated PC and display minimize the footprint of the system. The BioTop L is designed for operation and control of 1 reactor vessel.

The BioTop® L system is the economic choice for basic cell cultivation and microbial fermentation research projects. The BioTop®L control module is operated from an integrated PC and controls/monitors an autoclavable (glass) single wall reactor vessel, with working volumes ranging from 1L to 10L. The flexible configuration and robust control functionality ensure optimal results when using animal cells (CHO、Vero、BHK、293、SF9), micro-organisms (E. coli, yeast, fungi), insect cells or plant cells in batch mode, fed batch, continuous, or perfusion mode for suspension, micro-carrier, or fixed bed cultivation. The BioTop®L is easy to operate and is used for scientific education and research purposes and for basic development work.

BioTop L Bioreactor – Configuration details
The BioTophead plate ports can be adapted to meet your requirements.

A typical port configuration is:

· Reflux condenser; 6x8 mm gas outlet · Micro sparger, ring sparger

· Level/Antifoam sensor · Temperature sensor

· pH sensor · pO2/DO sensor

· 3-in-1 needle connector · Dip-tube; 4x6mm or 6x8mm or 10x12mm sizes available

· Sampling device; 4x6 mm or 6x8 mm sizes available

The BioTop L Process Control Unit houses a powerful and scalable controller ensuring high reliability control, ease of programming and process fault diagnosis. The WinCC-SCADA system connects to devices such as PLC and discrete controllers to interface with the bioreactor connected instruments, sensors and auxiliary equipment. Data is recorded in an SQL database.

The console-top mounted 10 inch PC/display acts as a gateway between the Process Control Unit and the BioTop L operating software, providing all necessary functions for reliable operation and monitoring of the process. The intuitive interface provides quick access to data from all controllers so you can manage cell culture or microbial fermentation processes, using a variety of functions to help you handle all the key steps in your process.

The HD storage capacity enables recording of numerous parameters that may be essential for retrospective review or validation of your experiments or process batches.

As an option the BioTrail™ self-control software can be installed to gain access to a wider range of functions . BioTrail's self-control software has intelligent and powerful data analysis and management capabilities and is developed in accordance with GAMP 5 and FDA 21 CFR PART 11 requirements. With BioTrail™ software up to 6 bioreactors can be managed at the same time.

The easy-to-use BioTopL interface provides you with process supervisory management and quick access to the recorded parameter data, enabling optimal management of your fermentation or cell culture process.

BioTop L operation and control functionalities include:

· Powerful data analysis; real-time operation and control of up to 8 bioreactor vessels from 1 PC/HMI (multiple process control units)
· Simultaneous control and display of up to 8 parameters per vessel, such as temp., pH, pO2/DO, pCO2, agitation speed, level/antifoam, optical density, and more

· Optimal traceability; process data is real-time recorded and displayed in graphic or tabular format
· User management; password protected multi-level access
· Process automation; manual or automated operation, user programmable process steps and program recipe’s for optimizing aeration, harvesting and supply of additives and utilities
· Data management; process data is archived in an SQL database, export/import (.csv format) and reporting functions included
· Bilingual Chinese and English interface
